Reminder: Nov 19, 11am-12pm, for parents/guardians.
This workshop is presented to parents/guardians regarding Social Emotional Learning (SEL) for children, adolescents, and adults. What SEL? Why is it important to have SEL at home? In this workshop we will learn the five components of SEL, the why behind SEL in the home based on research, and take away a few simple at home strategies to support SEL for your family.

Last week our Mock Trial teams competed in Round 1 of the annual county competition. Oak Hills Team White defeated Barstow to begin the season with a winning record -- they are defending their undefeated season last year that took them to the semifinal rounds. Oak Hills Team Red narrowly lost to Colton (by .05%) -- this team is made up of students (largely sophomores and freshmen) competing for the first time this year and their performance was solid.
Round 2 will be held on Nov. 18 --- OHHS Team White will face Arrowhead Christian Academy, and OHHS Team Red will take on United Christian Academy.
Way to go Bulldogs!

Good afternoon senior parents. At this time, Hesperia Unified school district has decided to go with a virtual graduation that will be held on the 26th of May at 6pm, that will be broadcasted live on our district website. The ceremony will include performers from the class, valedictorian and non-valedictorian speakers and each and every student's name will be announced, just like a traditional graduation ceremony.
Hesperia Unified school district is also planning to possibly have a live graduation ceremony, at a future date, where students could walk across the stage like a typical graduation. This however is contingent on the current social distancing guidelines being relaxed.

Just a reminder seniors. Tomorrow from 10-12 we will be passing out cap and gowns in the student parking lot. You will also recieve your club cords.

Good evening Bulldog parents and students. You still have an opportunity to get one of this years historic yearbooks. They are going fast. Go to yearbooksforever.com and search for Oak Hills High School.

Good afternoon senior parents. We have posted a senior information document on our website that has information about all the senior events including prom, graduation, grad night, senior check out and more. Just go to the news section on the website and click on the link. As information changes, the document will be updated.

Hello senior parents. Just to clarify, we have not cancelled our prom, we have just postponed it. The new tentative date is the 6th of June. We are just offering refunds for the bus since we will be having the celebration on our campus, where we would be able to have the dance at a much lower cost and we would have no need for buses.

Good morning parents and seniors. To access refund forms for prom payments please go to the Oak Hills website. Click on explore, under the student life tab click on ASB. Once there click on the refund form, make a copy, fill it out and email it to jeffrey.gunnerson@hesperiausd.org. Once we get it you can expect a return in about 1 to 2 weeks.

Good Friday to all. As we finish another week of distance learning, please take a moment and enjoy this episode of the pandemic life from Mr. Maust and his broadcast journalism team. The link is below.

Good evening Staff and Parents, HUSD put out a message that school has been canceled beginning Monday March 16th through the end of Spring Break March 29th. Also, all events have been canceled effective immediately. Unfortunately, OHHS will not be able to present the drama production Urinetown on March 13th or March 14th and our Military Ball scheduled for this evening March 13th is canceled as well. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.

The OHHS drama production of Urinetown the musical is scheduled to have its first two shows this weekend March 13th and 14th. To comply with the state mandate declaring, “non-essential gatherings must be limited to no more than 250 people," the two shows are being limited to 200 guests per night. OHHS will not be selling tickets at the door and only guests who have purchased a presale ticket from a cast member will be able to enter the show. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Due to rain in the forecast the Hesperian Ninja Warrior Finals will be rescheduled to FRIDAY, APRIL 3 2020. Elementary will start at 8:00 AM, middle school at 10:15 AM, and high schools at 11:15 AM.

Good Evening Bulldogs. In an effort to increase safety around the campus, speed bumps were installed over the weekend in the student lot, front lot, and fire lanes. Please be cautious as you enter these areas on Tuesday morning. Also, if you have not completed the Handbook/Parent Rights/Media Release, please take a moment to do this with your student to avoid interruptions to the student email/chromebook. myhusdid.org/husdpolicy/ Have a great evening.

Good Afternoon Bulldog Parents! In order for your student to utilize their chromebook and student Gmail account, a parent or guardian must complete the Handbook/Parent Rights/Media Release using the link at the end of this message. This process only takes minute to complete but you will need your student's ID number to begin. After October 21st, your student's chromebook and student Gmail account will not longer work if the release has not been signed. Thank you in advance for your help. myhusdid.org/husdpolicy/

PLEASE NOTE: Our teachers will not be on campus tonight. You can meet the teachers at Back to School Night on August 21st from 6-8pm.

Hesperia Unified School District is pleased to announce that we will be using the Raptor Visitor Management System in all of our schools as part of our campus safety programs for students and faculty. All visitors, volunteers, and visiting staff will be asked to present a government-issued ID, such as a Driver’s License, state ID, etc. The Raptor system only checks the visitor's name and date of birth for comparison with a national database of registered sex offenders. No other data from the ID is gathered or recorded. The system is not connected to any other database such as the Department of Motor Vehicles, and information is not shared with any outside agency.
This implementation will help increase the efficiency in our offices, allowing District-approved volunteers to spend their valuable time in classrooms instead of in the front office. Thank you, in advance, for your support in enhancing safety in our schools.
