How do students make an appointment to see their counselor?
Before school, during lunch or after school a student may come to the counseling office and fill out a counselor request form. Every effort will be made to call the student in within 24 hours. If it is an emergency the student can request a hall pass from their teacher to see their counselor.
How do parents contact their student’s counselor?
Oak Hills High School counseling staff is broken down by grade level. Parents can call 760-244-2283 and let the counseling assistant know their students grade level and they will be directed to the proper counselor if he/she is available. If the counselor is not available, every effort will be made for someone within the counseling office to return the parents phone call within 24 hours. If you need to meet with your student’s counselor call and make an appointment.
How do I handle academic concerns?
Teachers generally post their grades to Edline at least weekly. All teachers have their email addresses posted on Edline. This is the best way to contact teachers. If you have not received your Edline code, call the counseling office and one of our assistants will gladly give you your code. If you would like to speak to a teacher on the phone, call the counseling office and one of our assistants will arrange a telephone contact to you from the teacher. After you have tried both of these methods, if you would like to meet with your student’s teachers with a counselor present, call the counseling office and an appointment will be arranged for 2PM as soon as we can coordinate everyone’s schedule.
